Better late than never. Just noticed this post. These are the kind of wonderful and sustainable projects that we need all over the world. We have made great progress with communities both here, on Lake Titicaca as well as in Cusco and we are happy to introduce caring, conscientious visitors.

I visited Julio and his family as part of my 4-week tour of southern Peru arranged by Nina. Not only was Julio an excellent chef (and he is a chef, not just a cook), but Isabelle and Melissa were charming and welcoming. Having lunch together was an excellent way for me to talk with local people and learn about their lives. This is an opportunity that anyone who wants to connect with the people of Peru and not just visit old Inca sites should put on the top of their list.

Thanks again to Nina, Julio, Isabelle, and Melissa,
